Woo man, i just came back from the Library at Bugis. Wow there are 4 weddings showcase in the library. If you are at the library, you will see what i meant was 4 minatures wedding showcase. There is Indian, Malay, Chinese, Eurasian Marriage.
I think this is to create more awareness to the races and to ensure that the tradition do not lose touch.
When 2 person walk together to that journey towards marriage, it is not just the wedding itself. It is also being there for 1 another, their family, their friends and to build a rewarding life together and fulfilling life together. That's where the marriage vows are very important. It is for life when 2 persons decided to take the commitment to the highest level. To love and to cherish each other forever be it for better or for worse when the life comes. Is it that simple? Yes it is that simple. The love will grow stronger with both parties having the commitment. If 1 party do not have that, it will sure doom to failure.
That's my thoughts when i see the 4 different wedding customs. Is the same for all races. Utimately is to grow old together with someone you LOVE>
